Artem Chigvintsev Responds to Nikki Bella's Divorce Filing with His Own
Artem Chigvintsev has responded to Nikki Bella's divorce filing, requesting joint legal and physical custody of their son Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev, as well as spousal support.
Chigvintsev Files Response To Nikki Bella's Divorce Request
In documents obtained by ET, Artem Chigvintsev, 39, filed a response to Nikki Bella's divorce petition on Tuesday, August 2 requesting joint legal and physical custody of their 1-year-old son, as well as spousal support.
Bella, 37, filed for divorce from Chigvintsev in Los Angeles on July 20, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair were married in August 2020 and share one child together.
In his response, Chigvintsev agrees with Bella's request that their marriage be dissolved, but asks the court to deny her request for primary physical custody and legal decision-making authority of their son.
Chigvintsev also asked the court to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to Bella, but asked that he be awarded spousal support from her.
The "Dancing With the Stars" pro cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, and requested joint legal and physical custody of their son.
Bella and Chigvintsev began dating in 2019 and got engaged in November of that year. They welcomed their son in July 2020.
The couple has not publicly commented on their divorce filing.
