Investigation Sought Amidst Leadership Concerns
Mayor Jones Cites Leadership Issues, Staffing Shortages
St. Louis City Mayor Tishaura Jones has called for an audit of the St. Louis Public Schools (SLPS) district following concerns over leadership and staffing shortages.
Just 15 days before the start of the school year, Mayor Jones expressed her alarm over the current situation within the district. She has requested a state audit to investigate the leadership and staffing issues that have plagued SLPS.
According to a spokesperson for the Missouri Auditor's Office, Mayor Jones's request has been received and is being reviewed. The audit would examine the district's financial practices, operations, and compliance with state laws and regulations.
