Gervonta Davis Defeats Frank Martin in Eighth-Round Knockout
"Tank" Davis Retains WBA Secondary Title

Gervonta "Tank" Davis made a successful return to the ring on Saturday night, defeating Frank Martin by eighth-round knockout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Davis, who hadn't fought since April 2023, retained his WBA secondary 135-pound title with the victory.
Martin, who entered the fight with a 20-1 record, gave Davis a tough challenge in the early rounds. However, Davis' superior power and speed eventually proved to be too much for his opponent. Davis knocked Martin down twice in the eighth round, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
With the victory, Davis improves his record to 30-0 with 25 knockouts. He is now widely considered to be one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world.
Martin, who suffered his first professional loss, will look to rebound in his next fight. He is a talented young boxer with a bright future, and he will undoubtedly be back in contention for a world title soon.
